Milwaukee, known as “the city of Festivals”, is one of the top 10 cities to live in based on salary and cost of living and has some of the best environments for millennial families. Summerfest occurs each year on the shore of Lake Michigan and is referred to as “The World’s Largest Music Festival” by the city. Milwaukee is also home to several cultural festivals during the summer, with a different celebration planned for just about every weekend. 

Housing in Wisconsin

Like many other areas in the country, the housing market in Wisconsin is competitive, with not as many homes available for sale. From October 2020 to October 2021, the median price of a home rose from $228,000 to $245,000. While this can be good for people looking to sell, it is something to consider when moving to Wisconsin and looking for a new home. Also, the number of home sales decreased by 1,200 when compared to last year.
Some of the more expensive cities to live in Wisconsin include Shorewood, Bayside, and Shorewood Hills. On the more affordable side, Whitefish Bay, Elm Grove, and Kohler top the list.

Wisconsin Sports

Wisconsin is a sports-lovers haven with both major and minor league teams in every sport.  

Green Bay, although known for the Greek Bay Packers, is also home to the Gamblers, a USHL hockey team.  

In Milwaukee, you can catch a baseball game with the Brewers or a basketball game with the Bucks. 

The Forward Madison Football Club brings professional soccer to the state. And for college sports, the University of Wisconsin – Madison is home to the Badgers.

Weather in Wisconsin

Weather in Wisconsin is impacted largely by the Great Lakes, with comfortable summers and bitter winters. 

Temperatures often get to below 0 degrees in the winter, with heavy snowfall and bitter cold temperatures.  

Summer, spring, and early fall are all popular times to visit the state and are often the most comfortable. The breeze from the Great Lakes prevents the temperatures from getting too hot, and as the leaves start to change in the fall, the summer crowds often start to slip away as well.
